Washington, Nov 9 (EFE) .- The US Department of Justice announced today that it will distribute 772.5 million dollars to the victims of the fraud orchestrated by investor Bernard Madoff, the beginning of the compensation process for which a fund of 4,000 million dollars has been created.

This first item, which will go to 24,000 customers around the world, will be distributed through the JP Morgan bank, of which the American investor was a client and which is considered not to have reviewed in detail the criminal activities.

These 4,000 million dollars of the fund for the victims is made up of 2,200 million of the possessions of the deceased Jeffry Picower, advisor to Madoff, and 1,700 million additional JP Morgan.
