Likewise, the coordinator pointed out that Montevideo and Punta del Este are the main destinations chosen by Brazilians and those most consulted during the festival, although "they are very interested" in other places such as the Painted Birds Corridor, which runs along the coast fluvial in the west of the country.

"They are very interested in that because they are also looking for the new, such as religious tourism, which was an unknown offer in this market and that also opens up a window, since there are large agencies that need to renew, "Pos explained.

According to the official of the Ministry of Tourism, travel agencies are requesting renewal in all types of destinations and "Luckily" in Montevideo, Punta del Este, and in destinations that are not as well known, there are new activities to offer.

Uruguay's goal is to promote its tourism offer and thus surpass the current figure of 460,000 Brazilian tourists in 2016, which Pos hopes will happen this year because the arrival of visitors from that country "has been good for all 2017 ".

The Uruguayan stand has the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, the private sector and the Intendencias of the departments (provinces) of Colonia (west), Montevideo (south), Maldonado and Rocha (both in the east).

"It's an important fact because it's just for the season and it's something new," Pos concluded.
