Asunción, Nov 7 (EFE) .- The Paraguayan government today proposed to the unions of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) a salary increase and the inclusion in the permanent staff of 300 workers who have a temporary contract, to end the strike in the state.
According to a statement, the Government, through the Ministry of Finance, offered to trade unionists an adjustment of the Minimum Reference Salary to which the bonuses are indexed.
In this way, the calculation would be made on 389.8 dollars (2.199.314 guaraníes) instead of over 350 Dollars (1,977,800 guaraníes).
Likewise, the Treasury also committed to include in the permanent staff 300 ANDE workers who currently have contracts temporary.
The Ministry clarified that the income obtained with the tariff increase of electricity in March of this year was not intended for a salary increase but an improvement of the service for users.
Likewise, the Treasury explained in its statement that ANDE "is in a process of recovery after years of deterioration and lack of investment. "
ANDE closed last year with losses of 13 million dollars (more than 73 billion guaranies), compared to about 19 million dollars entered in 2015 (plus 107 billion guaranies).
