The GDP of the eurozone and the EU grew by 0.6 percent in the third quarter of 2017

The GDP of the eurozone and the European Union (EU) grew by 0.6% between July and September 2017 compared to the second quarter of this year, according to the second estimate Published today by the office of community statistics, Eurostat.

Brussels, 14 Nov (EFE). - The GDP of the Eurozone and the European Union (EU) grew by 0.6% between July and September 2017 compared to the second quarter of this year, according to the second estimate published today by the Community Statistics Office, Eurostat.

Between April and June, both the economy of the nineteen countries that share the single currency and the of the Twenty-eight had increased by 0.7%.

If the year-on-year comparison is made with the third quarter of 2016, from July to September of this year the GDP rose by 2.5% in the countries of the euro and the EU as a whole, after growing 2.3% and 2.4% respectively between April and June.

In Spain, the GDP exceeded the EU and the eurozone average increase of 0.8%, one tenth less than in the previous quarter.

In interannual terms, the Spanish economy also grew more than that of the Twenty-eight and the Nineteen, up to 3.1%, same figure as in the second quarter of 2017.

By countries, Romania (2.6%), Latvia (1.5%), Poland and Finland (1 GDP in the EU.

The main year-on-year increases occurred in Romania (8.6%), Latvia (6.2%), the Czech Republic and Poland (5% in the two countries).
