Panama boosts its regional competitiveness with innovations and ventures

Enhancing the ideas of entrepreneurship and innovation to promote economic growth in Panama are the main axes of a meeting in the Panamanian capital, which kicked off the Week World Entrepreneurship, today announced the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (Ampyme).

Panama, Nov 13 (EFE) .- To promote the ideas of entrepreneurship and innovation to promote the economic growth of Panama are the main axes of a meeting in the Panamanian capital, that started the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (Ampyme) informed today.

The Central American country, which joined the event international, has among its goals to strengthen and share the culture of business creation that occurs in the 170 countries linked to this initiative with events and activities that are developed simultaneously.

"We have made progress in the framework of the public-private partnership to position entrepreneurship in Panama, in addition, this allows us to have more micro and small enterprises than generate quality jobs and improve the country's competitiveness, "said the Minister of Ampyme, María Celia Dopeso.

The official also signed the National Pact for the Entrepreneurship with the participation of new actors such as Voces Vitales de Panamá, Universidad del Istmo, Fundación PANAFINTECH, and the Foundation of Entrepreneurial and Entrepreneurial Development Center (CEDE).

The Equality and Inclusion Officer of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Gabriel Boyke, said that the event allows generating a space for interaction between all members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, which in turn promotes an exchange of information.

For a week, the meeting will allow access to interested in promoting an economy active and creative, in knowledge, experiences through conferences, panels and workshops, as part of the programming of different activities at national level.

Ampyme, also announced that tomorrow in the Yellow House of the Presidency of Panama, the launch of the "National Policy: Panama Emprende y crecer" and the "National Council for Entrepreneurship" will be launched. Both strategies will be set up to follow up on the agreements reached in the National Pact.

It is expected that a large number of people will participate to start and grow companies, obtain valuable information from experts, learn to detect business opportunities, build a value proposition and learn how to eat the orange economy and technical of the "WAO Effect".

The Central American country has approximately 600,000 micro and SME companies, according to available data.

Global Entrepreneurship Week has with the support of the Center for the Promotion of Micro and Small Enterprises in Central America (Cenpromype), a model of the General Secretariat of the Integration System Central American.

Simultaneously, the program for the region is carried out in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
