New Delhi, Nov 15 (EFE) .- 88% of the Indians have a favorable opinion on the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, when the third year of the legislature is exceeded, seven points more than the last year and data similar to those of 2015, according to a report published today by the Pew Research Center.

"Nearly nine out of ten Indians have a favorable opinion of Modi, similar to his vision of him in 2015, when he had been in the position for a year. specialized in demographic trends and public opinion.

The survey, conducted on 2,464 people between February 21 and March 10 and with a margin of error of 3.7%, reveals that the popularity of the leader has re-shot in 2017 after standing at 81% last year.

Although the growth forecasts have fallen because of the sudden withdrawal of banknotes that last year caused a liquidity crisis in the country, according to Pew the number of Indians who consider that the economic situation is good has increased in 2017 to 83%, compared to 80% in 2016 and 57% in 2013.

Seven out of ten respondents say they are happy with the direction in which the country is moving, almost twice as many as in 2014 and the highest figure counted by Pew since 2013.

Despite this, the vast majority of Indians questioned are concerned about crime and terrorism.

Modi came to power in May 2014 with an agenda marked by economic reforms.

Last year the president ordered the withdrawal of the two largest denomination tickets in the country to fight against black money, while in mid-2017 he implemented the largest tax reform in the history of independent India: an indirect tax common to all of its states.
