Nairobi, Sep 13 (EFE) .- Taxi drivers serving companies like Uber or Taxify demonstrated today in Nairobi because of the low profit margin they get current rates. p>
The boom of these companies in Kenya, to which Littlecab and Mondo add, has caused a progressive reduction of prices that has repercussions on the percentage of the drivers, many of whom have been on strike since last Monday. p>
Currently, this service has an average user fee of 60 shillings (0.49 euros) per kilometer and the Association of Online Platforms for Taxis has warned that it will not accept that it is being covered below that limit. P>
In response, Uber said his team is "working hard to find more ways for drivers to use the application to thrive. " p>
Last March, the company was forced to increase its rates by 20% after having lowered them to 35 shillings (0.28 euros) per kilometer due to protests from their drivers. p>
In turn, the drivers of these companies have had to face physical attacks and threats by of taxi drivers with private license.
