The Panamanian airline and the National Union of Workers of the Aviation Industry, Logistics, Similar and Related to the Republic of Panama were negotiating the collective agreement for the period 2017-2018 and failed to reach an agreement on the economic clauses, said the Ministry of Labor. P>
"We reiterate to the parties that the will" of the ministry "is and will be to seek consensus and contribute to social and national peace," added the Government, which urged workers in the same statement "to continue working normally while the conflict is resolved." p>
The Tocumen International Airport, the main one in Panama and an important terminal connection in the region, said for its part that "air operations are carried out normally" and that "no interruptions are foreseen." p>
Tocumen, which is in full period of expansion, serves as the base of operations of Copa, which is a member of the Star Alliance since 2012 and is considered the most punctual airline in Latin America by different international consultants.
