It will do this through one of its most popular online trading platforms, Tmall.com, which will cooperate with Alibaba Distribution Platform, a platform of Services, to convert residential community stores into physical stores. P>
These physical stores under the Tmall brand will be smart establishments with a chain of Supply provided by Alibaba Distribution Platform that will use data intelligence ("big data") to improve its effectiveness and, for example, to study which products are most Popular in a neighborhood. P>
Lin Xiaohai, vice president of Alibaba, said that Tmall's physical stores will be upgraded based on the Alibaba Distribution Platform, which offers a series of Services such as goods orders, logistics, marketing and value-added services. P>
So far, Alibaba Distribution Platform has served nearly 500,000 stores. "With the help of data intelligence, traditional small stores will save on costs," said Liu Jianfeng, director of the platform's product center.
